Chip has been in ministry for 29 years and has served as a pastor, educator and missionary. He is a graduate of Oral Roberts University and holds an M.Div. from Trinity International Divinity School and a D.Min. from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. He is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Doctoral program at Pan Africa Theological Seminary (PATHS) in Lome, Togo. He has also taught at East Africa School of Theology in Nairobi , Kenya as well as in several other East African settings.
Chip and his wife Cyndi have been married for 21 years. They have two children. Benjamin is 19 and involved in ministry in Rockford, IL. Cassidy is 17 and is in her senior year of High school. Cyndi has a passion for people to encounter Christ. She is an intercessor that believes God for Kingdom realities on earth! Her heart is to see people healed, delivered and set free.
The Block family served as missionaries with the Assemblies of God in Kenya from 1995 thru 2007. During that time Chip led a regional youth and student ministry, served as the president of East Africa School of Theology, and brought leadership to the Kenya missionary fellowship. The last five years of their missions work Chip and Cyndi were the lead pastors of International Christian Center in Nairobi, Kenya. Currently, they are pastoring Oak Brook Community Church in Oak Brook, Illinois. The mix of pastoral and missions ministry experience is a mark of Chip’s heart for the church globally. His desire is to see the church be the church that God intended it to be in the world in which we live!
