FIRE School of Ministry Chicago exists to develop Christian leaders, ablaze with the Spirit’s fire, shaped by the truth of Scripture, and equipped to bring a Jesus Revolution to Chicago, America and the nations by proclaiming the Gospel and demonstrating the Kingdom of God in character and power.
Leaders are trained in the context of a Spiritual culture that is characterized by (1) the shaping of the heart through intimacy with God and personal holiness, (2) the shaping of the mind through academic study of Scripture, theology and contemporary culture, and (3) the shaping of a way of life that reflects and embodies the love and power of Christ. The goal of our training is to build whole people, who can proclaim and demonstrate the whole gospel, throughout the whole world.
In service of these objectives, FIRE Chicago is committed to being a multicultural, interdenominational center for ministry training whose values include authentic revival of congregations and communities, understanding and participating in the worldwide mission of the church, and embracing and cultivating the ‘fivefold’ character of Christ’s leadership gifts to the church.
A final component of our vision is to position our graduating students to be successful in the next phase of their lives by helping them discern the implications of God’s call, and connecting them to a broader network of ministries. We seek to build life-long relationships with our students, and assist them to take healthy first steps as they serve the Lord after graduation.
